Eliquis

Eliquis blocks the activity of certain clotting substances in the blood.
Eliquis is used to lower the risk of stroke or a blood clot in people with a heart rhythm disorder called atrial fibrillation.
Eliquis reduces the risk of forming a blood clot in the legs and lungs of people who have just had hip or knee replacement surgery.
Eliquis treats blood clots in the veins of your legs (DVT – deep vein thrombosis) or lungs (pulmonary embolism), and reduce the risk of them occurring again.
Entresto

Entresto contains a combination of sacubitril and valsartan. Sacubitril is a blood pressure medicine. It works by increasing the levels of certain proteins in the body that can dilate (widen) blood vessels. This helps lower blood pressure by reducing sodium levels.
Valsartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (sometimes called an ARB). Valsartan keeps blood vessels from narrowing, which lowers blood pressure and improves blood flow.
Entresto is used in adults with chronic heart failure. This medicine helps lower the risk of needing to be hospitalized when symptoms get worse, and helps lower the risk of death from heart failure.
Entresto is also used to treat heart failure in children who are at least 1 year old.
Entresto is usually given together with other heart medications.

What is Entresto Used For?

Entresto is used to treat congestive heart failure, which is also known as chronic heart failure. Specifically, Entresto is used to treat a type of heart failure that results from the heart becoming enlarged and too weak to sufficiently pump blood throughout the body. Congestive heart failure causes people who do not pump enough blood to have blood and other fluids back up inside the lungs, abdomen, liver, and lower body, which can be life-threatening.
Entresto: Cost, Dosage, and Side Effects

Entresto is a unique prescription drug for the treatment of heart failure, as it contains two active ingredients that each work in different ways. Entresto is the first and only FDA-approved medication that helps to increase the heart’s ability to pump blood through the body in patients who have a certain type of chronic heart failure in which the heart is enlarged and too weak to properly pump blood from systolic dysfunction.

Can Your Morning Cup of Coffee Provide You with More than Just an Energy Boost?

Coffee is the go-to caffeine choice for an energy boost in the morning or at any time. But what if coffee could do more than that? Limited studies have shown the potential for coffee consumption to reduce the incidence of type 2 diabetes, protect against cirrhosis, and help control movement in patients with Parkinson's disease. More robust studies are needed to provide support for these other potential health benefits of coffee consumption. Make sure you check with your primary healthcare provider before consuming coffee or caffeine (especially with high blood pressure and during pregnancy) to ensure it is safe.
